sundance's lineup was announced, it'll be fun to see what movies make it to nashville when the sund. fest. brings the traveling version here. the one guy josh radnor from how i met your mother has a film there that he wrote directed and stars in but i wonder if he did his own catering :) sundance fest seems to be at an odd point in reguards to it's place in the fest circuit cause the toronto fest is pretty much viewed as the top dog and then cannes is really the place for like a best auteur/director compition as seen last year when it was tarranito vs von trier vs hanke vs the guys who made up and the thing is, those films aren't really sundace films at this point at least not compition films and now sundance has elimanted the opening night, it's like they want to be smaller than they are. toronto fest is by all acounts a cluster fuck of more films than you can see but it's still the place where the slumdog millionaires of the world get premiered(like this years's up in the air), you know the films that tend to win for best picture and not just the ones that tend be happy just to get nominated. But for some reason in my mind any how the sundance brand is still strong as you can book it that i will actually go to the movie theater to see their traveling fest. maybe it's robert redford himself, maybe it's cause they discovered/highlighted so many talents in the late 80s and 90s but like former sundance discoveree richard linklater's new film me and orson welles premiered at where, toronto of course because there's not really a good place for it at sundance. it just makes sundance seem like a factory or high school where they're always trying to get you out the door to make way for the next one; always be closing. they do have a new progran director so maybe that's just the changing with the times that was promised in a way back during the fest's origin/breakthrough. having said that, it does kinda seem like a david mamet play

oh yes curb your enthusiam had a great end to its season with the senfield reunion half episode complete with catch phrases i.e. having said that (i will know say the opposite). Also good if not great was sons of anarchy's finale. the hard nose biker club show did well in setting up next season but i wanted a bigger moment or fresher ending than the sort of true blue that they delivered. that is one mean show for example this season henry rollins plays a white supremecist that well, has some interactions with the main characters.
and then there was the series finale of monk, one of my faves as it usually had good writing and the main character was great.

gay marrige lost in the ny senate 38-24 like not even close. wtf. i mean i have said before that gay marrige isn't mainstream but neither are big stage musicals but those mix just fine in the ny state of mind. i was pretty happy the yanks won the series though. tiger woods sounds like a douchebag in that phone call to his l.a. waitress gal pal, the worldview is CRUMBLING.. or not. even more shocking is that local sports talk guy darren mcfarland got cost cut even though he was part of the top rated show here for 6 years and he did the last dodgeball tourny i played in. i added a gaga video and redid the layout on here for even more entertainment all for you. even though the new surge is what we thought h.clinton would do but obama wouldn't, here's a link to 90 things obama has accomplished, http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/11/19/805925/-90-Accomplishments-of-Pres.-Obama-Which-The-Media-Fails-to-Report

those of you, both of you maybe, wondering where that new music video i talked about making is, well it's turned into a full on short film so that script needs written. but the other feature script crossed the 72 page mark with 80 pages coming fast and 90 really within site. I did have the chance to work with William Henry once again on a video. It's the fourth time I've worked with him and always mind blowingly awesome. he's got a weekly radio show called revelations here, http://www.unknowncountry.com/media/index_rev.phtml you can listen to some archived shows. his work is like an extension of joesph cambell's work on mythloogy. William also investigates where religion, secret societies, art, math, science, history, politics, and stargates intersect.

a reviewer from the new yorker calls godard's in praise of love the best film of the decade in a recent article, which makes me laugh. i know i wrote i wasn't going to look for people who disagree but that's not really what's going on here. that film'ss title provided in my mind, the best godard jokes of the decade which always goes a long way towards deciding the best film of the decade. in praise of in praise of. also the heretical smack down of spielberg was noteworthy but shouldn't godard's history of cinema, his like 20 hour film even if it was kinda made last decade still be the default winner if you're going with a godard is king mindset? the guy's number 2 was wes anderson's india movie which was yeah no, it's no slumdog and slumdog is likely the best movie made about india that wasn't made by an all indian team. it, anderson's film, seems like a throwaway film to me. rushmore is a great great movie and it's hard to say anything bad about his debut, bottle rocket, but beyond that, it's like sometimes they don't do much for me. i haven't seen the new animated one yet. knocked up was in the bottom of half of NYer's top ten.

for some reason the goverment is happy that the country only lost 11,000 jobs this past month. it reminds me when biden was on the daily show and lamented how we have socialism for the rich and capitalism for everybody else. um joe that's what we elected you to change, not just seem clever in saying. the clever sayings will be left to me and the other millions of underemployed mother fuckers out here. when it comes to money, biden is just one of the good ole boys, not to go all class war on ya but it's like people in power just don't get it.

i switched music video players to one straight from youtube but it still runs slow, you'd think that since this site, blogger, is google owend and youtube is also owned by the googel then geez it might run smoothly but not so much, certainly not during peak hours of use.
